A simpler and more secure path to safer caregiving
As members of the SimpliHere community, you all know that caregiving is rarely done alone. Most caregiving happens within a small team of family, friends, and professionals. Technology should reflect that truth.
From our very first day, our app was designed to make it easier for people who live with the support of care teams to communicate their needs, requests, and questions and to facilitate the roles of caregiving by professionals, family members, and friends.
We are excited to share that SimpliHere is evolving. The next release of our app focuses on making the caregiving experience simpler, more collaborative, and more secure by introducing three important improvements designed to better support patients and the people who care for them.
On the blog this month, we’re going to do a deep dive to explain these changes and what they’ll mean for you — but the top takeaways are that only the patient pays, caregivers join free, and it’s now easier to invite helpers to participate in your care plans.
1-A New Subscription Model
Historically, the SimpliHere app was a $4.99 one-time purchase. With the new release, however, SimpliHere will move to a subscription model: it will cost $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year. We made this change for several important reasons.
First, there are costs associated with the ongoing development and upgrading of the app so that it includes new features and incorporates new technologies that are available to the patient and their caregivers. We want to stay ahead of the curve, focused on delivering a product that integrates the very best supports and tools.
A subscription model also allows us to implement important security and compliance improvements, and it supports the long-term sustainability of the platform. With the new subscription model, we are investing in the future of the platform and enabling improvements that benefit caregivers and patients alike.
2-The Inner Circle: Bringing Stakeholders Together For Safer Caregiving
Another new feature of SimpliHere is the Inner Circle structure. In the new release of the app, only the patient needs a subscription. Caregivers download and access the app for free.
The patient creates the account and manages their care circle, inviting up to five caregivers. The patient selects a Primary Caregiver, who has permissions to help the patient manage and respond to requests. Then, four supporting caregivers can be added. These team members can view requests, help coordinate support, and stay informed about what the patient needs.
You can set up your Inner Circle with three easy steps to safer caregiving:
- The patient invites the caregiver
- The caregiver downloads the app, and
- The caregiver enters the invitation code
Reminder that caregivers do not need to purchase their own subscription; they access the app for free.
The Inner Circle model will speed up the setup process, reduce friction and clarify roles and responsibilities, and make coordination much easier for the team.
3-HIPAA-Ready: Sharing Protected Health Information
To ensure our users’ safety and privacy, the new SimpliHere now meets HIPAA requirements. This means patient health information is protected with stronger safeguards — the same strict standards required by hospitals and other healthcare providers.
This is incredibly important for patients, families, and caregivers who must share sensitive health details. It is also just the right thing to do. SimpliHere believes that protecting personal health information is essential when technology supports caregiving. You can trust SimpliHere to securely handle your personal health data and protect your privacy.
